On Friday, June 28, Ribanes Co., Ltd. will hold an event in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, aimed at medium-sized and small businesses,"The Shift to a Knowledge-Based Economy Will Shape the Future of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" LectureWe carried out the event.
In addition to being home to many universities and research institutions, Ibaraki Prefecture is home to a large concentration of manufacturing companies with unique technologies throughout the prefecture, particularly in the Hitachi area. Combining the technologies and assets of local manufacturing companies with the knowledge of R&D-focused startups and academic researchers represents a major step toward launching new businesses and expanding into new fields.
Since 2017, Ribane has been fostering R&D-driven startups that address global challenges based on research findings from universities and research institutions within the prefecture."Ibaraki Tech Planter"We are conducting this program, and from Ibaraki Prefecture,"Startup and Business Commercialization Support Program"We have also been continuing our efforts to support start-ups within the prefecture under a commission from the prefecture. This fiscal year, we were also awarded a new contract for Ibaraki Prefecture’s “Business Matching and Invitation Program for Promising Foreign Companies,” and have launched an initiative aimed at fostering collaboration, joint research, and technological partnerships between local companies, universities, research institutions, and other organizations in the prefecture and overseas businesses—primarily from Southeast Asia.
During the presentation, Takahashi (President, CEO, and COO of Lifeness) explained the concept of the “Knowledge Manufacturing Industry” advocated by Lifeness and its core principles. He also provided information on the aforementioned initiatives in Ibaraki Prefecture as a concrete first step toward fostering ongoing engagement with the participants.
At Ribane, we will continue our efforts in the “knowledge manufacturing” sector alongside our partners who are working to solve global challenges.
