Winners of the 2025 National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Awards Announced

To address unresolved challenges, companies, researchers, and engineers pool and combine their knowledge, technologies, and perspectives to create new value. The National Knowledge Manufacturing Awards were established to showcase these “knowledge manufacturing” practices to society and to promote their wider adoption.

Following the National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Conference, which served as the catalyst for these collaborations—which have since evolved through ongoing dialogue and practical implementation—we have selected three themes and a total of six companies as the winning projects for the 2025 National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Awards.

Democratizing Space Through a Bio-Experiment Unit Created Using Casting, Machining, and Microscopy Technologies
　IDDK Co., Ltd., Yoshida Industries Co., Ltd.

Global Expansion of Technologies That Revolutionize Factory and Plant Operations
 　CAST Co., Ltd., Kibata Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

The projects selected this time are all initiatives in which companies from different industries, with different technologies and challenges, have come together to combine their respective strengths and are moving forward to tackle specific challenges.

We received this award as a symbolic example demonstrating how the discussions that originated at the National Conference on Knowledge-Based Manufacturing have led to development, demonstration, and implementation.

The reasons for each project’s selection, the background behind the selections, and comments from the winners will be announced at the “2025 National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Awards Ceremony” to be held on March 27, 2026.
