Hosting the “National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Conference 2027” in collaboration with Mizuho Bank

Lifeness Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and Group CEO: Yukihiro Maru) will host the National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Conference 2027 on Tuesday, March 30, 2027. Continuing from last year, Mizuho Bank, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Katsuhiko Kato)—the only megabank with branches in all 47 prefectures, where each branch supports regional revitalization while deeply understanding the challenges and needs of local customers—will participate as a co-organizer.

The National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Conference is a forum where medium-sized and small businesses, startups, and other organizations from across the country bring together their technologies, products, on-site expertise, and challenges to combine knowledge from different fields and generate new business opportunities and solutions to social issues.

This conference, jointly organized by Mizuho Bank—which has an extensive nationwide network of corporate clients and supports businesses in their growth and new ventures—and Ribance—which has been connecting the expertise of researchers, startups, mid-sized companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through science and technology—will further accelerate new forms of collaboration that transcend regional, industry, and company size boundaries.

*Note:*
Leave a Nest and Mizuho Bank to hold Japan's first "National Knowledge Manufacturing Conference" on April 12, 2024 - Encouraging co-creation between medium-sized and small companies and venture companies, which account for 99.71 TP3T of domestic companies.

Background of the Initiative

As social and industrial challenges grow increasingly complex, it is becoming more and more difficult for a single company to create new markets relying solely on its own technologies and business infrastructure. At the same time, throughout Japan, there exists a wealth of “knowledge”—including proprietary technologies, processing and production know-how, customer relationships, data, and local resources—that has been cultivated over many years of business activity but has yet to be fully utilized for new purposes.

At Ribane, we define the process of combining different types of knowledge to generate new knowledge and thereby solve unresolved challenges as the “knowledge manufacturing industry.”

The National Knowledge-Based Manufacturing Conference differs from typical trade shows, which are aimed at companies “selling” their finished products and technologies.

"Could this technology be used in another industry?"
"Is there a company out there that can help us solve this problem?"
"What knowledge do we lack that we can't provide on our own?"

Taking these questions as a starting point, we aim to facilitate dialogue among a diverse range of companies, combine their respective technologies and expertise, and create opportunities for new business ventures. Through this joint initiative with Mizuho Bank, we will further expand our efforts to gather knowledge from companies across the country and strengthen our framework for connecting these companies, leading to concrete co-creation and commercialization.
